Iran-Ireland trade exchange doubles
The trade exchanges between Iran and Ireland doubled in 2017 compared to a year before, according to the latest statistics released by Irish Statistics Center.

Ireland's exports to Iran in 2017 amounted to 143.218 million euro up from 71.845 million euro in 2016, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported from London.

In the same period, Iran's exports to Ireland increased two folds to reach 3.510 million euro from 1.629 million euro registered in 2016.

Major Irish exports to Iran in the year under study included big industrial machinery, metallic and non-metallic minerals, electric machines and their accessories, organic and non-organic chemical materials, computers, diaries and meat.

Meanwhile, fresh vegetables, fruits, sugar, honey, beverages, plastic, cloth and fibers made up the major items Iran exported to Ireland in 2017.

In March this year, Iranian Ambassador to Ireland Javad Kachooeian said Iran and Ireland can make benefits from mutual cooperation in various fields in the post-Iran nuclear deal era.
